BEFORE THE SHOOT

As the photographer, I assume that everything is ready to be photographed PRIOR to my arrival.  Here are some tips to have your home ready...

 

  • The photo-shoot will take approximately 1 hour for a standard package and up to 1.5 hours for the delux package. I will be photographing both the inside and outside of your home. I’ll be photographing all of the major rooms. I normally do not photograph the garage or laundry room unless they have special features.
  • If you have special features of your home that are not obvious please let me know about these so I include them in the shoot
  • ​Please contain pets so they are not roaming free during the shoot
  • Remove all vehicles from driveways and do not park directly in front of the house
  • Move garbage cans out of sight
  • Open patio umbrellas and remove grill covers
  • Sweep driveways, sidewalks and patios
  • Remove any pet supplies including dog crates, food dishes, beds, and toys
  • Clear off counter tops in kitchen and bathroom areas
  • Remove all personal items and non matching towels from the bathroom
  • Remove bath mats and close toilet seats
  • Remove photos, notes and papers from the refrigerator
  • Turn on all interior lights
  • Where possible, open blinds and window treatments
  • Turn ceiling fans and televisions off
  • De-clutter rooms which may be excessively furnished. They do not photograph well
  •  Make all beds and tidy bedrooms. Clothes hung, or folded and put away
  • Remove piles of newspaper and magazines
  • Tuck trash cans out of view in a closet or cupboard
  • Clean any dirty windows or mirrors
  • Let me know if your home contains valuable works of art. I can edit photos to make these items unrecognizable
